Birmingham champion to speak at Midlands tech and cloud expo

StartUp Britain’s Local Champion for Birmingham will be representing the national enterprise  campaign as a keynote speaker at a technology event later this week.

Joel Blake will be making a keynote speech in a bid to highlight his work to accelerate and support the development of start-ups in the region.

He said: “StartUp Birmingham is proud to be supporting this ground-breaking event for the region, in this fast and exciting area of technology. The Midlands is fast becoming a beacon of enterprise in the UK and this event meets our start -up campaign ethos of bridging the gap between entrepreneurs all across the country and helping to drive innovation for UK PLC.”

Created by leading Midlands technology company The BIP (Business Information Portal), in conjunction with key partners, the two day event will take place in Millennium Point and is set to attract over 600 delegates and will include an international brokerage and investment event being run by the Enterprise Europe Network.

Taking place on the 28th and 29th November, confirmed brands in attendance include Google, Cisco, and IBM. Keynote speakers are set to include Sir Tim Berners-Lee, founder of the internet, and interactive activities include a Live Hackathon with many of the country’s brightest technology minds.
